シンプルで無駄がなくて、とてもかわいい。
幼くて、しかも華麗な、「いつも中心キャラ」って感じがうまく出せたと思います。
前髪と、頭上のふんわり巻き毛とを、どう表現するかが注目ポイントです。
その素敵なアイディアを思いつきました。
イーブイの首から胸への毛並みを紙の裏面の白を使って表現しましたが、その同じ折り方を裏返さずにあたまの上に折り返すことで、頭上の巻き毛を、実現しました。
それはちょっとした発見でした。
1998年10月のことです。
小学生だった子どもたちと一緒に、おりがみでポケモンをつくっていたのでした。
この日は、イーブイ、ロコンのほかに、ケーシィもつくりました。
その後はご存じのように、1999年にゲームフリークのチェックを受け、2000年に本になり、このロコンも、たくさんの方に楽しんでいただいたことと思います。
この作品は1999年に著作権者の監修を受け正式に許諾を得たものです。

■オレンジ色の紙で、まず基本折りの図20まで折る。
（強烈な橙色ではなく、やさしい蜜柑色に近い、オレンジ色）

Basic Folding
1 Fold the bottom corner to meet the top corner.
2 Make a crease and return it to its original position.
3 Rotate the paper 90 degrees, fold the other pair of corners together, make a crease and return it to its original position.

4 Rotate the paper 45 degrees and fold the bottom edge to line up with the top edge.
5 Make a crease and return it to its original position.
6 Rotate the paper 90 degrees and fold the other pair of edges together.
7 Hold the crease ▲ made in step 6 with your fingers and fold gently from both sides together.
8 Let the paper naturally fold along the creases to form the shape of 9.
9 A basic square is created.

10 Change the top and bottom positions.
With the opening facing downwards, fold the bottom left and right edges to meet the crease in the middle.
11 Make a crease and return.
12 Fold the top at the point where the crease made in 11 intersects with the top left and right edges.

14 While opening the front paper upwards, fold the left and right edges inward along the crease made in 11.

English Commentary
Vulpix’s head
1. Fold the paper up to the basic fold shape 20, then change the top and bottom positions. Make the bangs. Fold the bottom front piece of paper upwards at a point about 25 mm below the base.
2. Fold the paper downwards at a point 10 mm above the fold you just made.

4. Fold it slightly diagonally.
5. The bangs are done. Make the ears. Fold the top left and right pieces of paper diagonally from the base to a point about 3 mm above the top edge of the front piece of paper.

8. Insert the tips between the pieces of paper.

10 The ears are finished. Now make the hair on top of the head. Fold the bottom piece of paper upwards at a point 42 mm below the base and 33 mm above the bottom tip.
11 Make a firm crease, then mark the tip and unfold.
12 Fold the paper to the left and right along the line connecting the mark made in step 11 and the crease, to create the shape shown in step 13.
13 The hair on top of the head is finished.
